Here's the LNER Intercity 225. I walked the length of the platform to capture the consist while sitting at the station. Manufactured between 1989 and 1991, these brilliant trains still run daily between London Kings Cross and Leeds.

SSR through the S curves at Broadford and Jacana. Hired V/Line N Class Diesels N469, N457 lead SSR C502 and RL301 with the loaded grain from Southern New South Wales. This is the first round trip for the hired standard gauge N Class locos hauling SSR Grain trains. 16th August 2025.

This is SCT 4BM9 from Brisbane seen at Gowanbrae 15th August 2025. With recent financial reports suggesting Aurizon is struggling with Intermodal particularly on the East Coast, it's ironic SCT has a fully loaded train with a couple of Aurizon ACD locomotives helping haul the consist.

This mornings 5SM2 at Gowanbrae NR39 NR20. Trains are using the dual gauge passing loop as there is track machinery on the main standard gauge line. 15th August 2025.

We were about to leave Broadmeadows Station car park when the late night Apex / Hanson Quarry Train from Kilmore East to Hanson Brooklyn powered up from the platform and rolled on through with dynamic brakes with G532 up front. 14th August 2025.

The plan was to have a pub meal in London before heading back to Australia. Instead we jumped on the 1933 service to Leeds from Kings Cross and enjoyed a £6 meal deal instead. I first travelled on these in 1995.

10th of August 1975 saw the Advanced Passenger Train (APT Tilt Train) hit a railway speed record of 152.3 miles per hour. A preserved static display of the APT can be seen at the Crewe Heritage Centre. This video was filmed in 2024.

Here's a couple of GB Rail Freight and Freightliner class 66 diesel locomotives passing through Stratford in August 2025. Best spot for viewing the freights is probably platform 10a.
